Lovely camp ground well priced and very clean...but full of lots of permanent residents ( who do most of the work in due of rent. Owner lives off site?? I unfortunately stayed there for well over a month due to a medical problem. I got told off a couple of times about my dog not being tied up..yet quite a few of the permanent walk around the camp with their dogs lose all the time.If your going to have a rule it should be for everybody otherwise don't have the rule at all. Couldn't wait to leave.
Although I’d recommend avoiding the town of Balclutha all together, if you’re forced to spend a night here like I was, this was a lovely place for the price. For $18 for the night (1p), you get nice clean bathrooms, a glorious hot shower with amazing pressure, fully equipped kitchen and coin laundry facilities. The park mainly accommodates permanent resides who are kind, welcoming, and lovely people. The owner was extremely kind and recommended a scenic detour on my drive to Dunedin!
Very nice owner. He even came back to the campsite in the evening to spontaneously accommodate us. Very clean facilities. The kitchen is superbly equipped. We had a small cabin which unfortunately smelled a bit of smoke. The permanent campers are all friendly and helpful. But as a woman traveling alone, I would probably prefer to sleep somewhere else.
I paid $18 for an unpowered site. The facilities were great. Clean bathrooms and well equipped kitchen. Wifi was good too. Would definitely recommend. Owner very friendly.
Very friendly owner; we only stayed one night as we were moving on to Dunedin. The permanent residents keep the kitchen and bathroom very clean, it was one of the cleanest camps we encountered although slightly dated. It has a different vibe to tourist sites but great for a one–night stop.
Reception: very friendly, and the helpful staff member personally showed us around the campground. The facilities are a bit dated, but the kitchen is like a living room and very cozy. Laundry is inexpensive at $4 for washing and drying. The Wi-Fi was unstable on my phone and slow on my laptop. 5G mobile reception is available. You can walk to the town for food and shopping. There are many long-term campers, but they were friendly to us. Excellent value for money – we can recommend it as an overnight stop.
We stayed at this motorhome campground for one night, with three people. It was on our way to Dunedin. I was extremely surprised by the price ($36 for three people – shower and kitchen access included – with a washer and dryer for $4 each). Check-in was very quick. The campground is small (almost all the spots are taken by regulars). I was expecting some noise given the number of neighbors, but our night was relatively quiet. Unlimited showers.
The staff were very friendly but there were a lot of permanent residents at the campsite making loud noise around the kitchen area. Felt kind of sketchy so decided not to stay
We stoped there for the night on our way to Dunedin. The owner was friendly and the wifi is great. However we were the only visitors here and the other persons were permanent residents. We did not feel safe since a group of people was totally drunk and screamed from 6pm. They threw a party and put some very loud music until late at night and banging things (walls/caravans?).. we barely slept. The owner does not live here so it seems like campers can do whatever they like.
Rates are fair. Has a few permanents for a holiday park. Host was helpful. Facilities okay and clean enough. Okay for a stop over while travelling.
