This place lowkey freaked me out, a lot of permanent yarders, alright for one night tho to be fair, toilets clean. Not sure it necessitates a paid place - should be free I reckon
First time during our entire trip that we left a campsite. There were only strange people there who thought they owned the place. We felt really uncomfortable.
Great camping! Only $10 per person and just 12 min from wanaka. 5 min very good hot shower for only $2. Wash your disher with free hot water. Lot of places. Good signal.
We drove to the campsite with two campervans, and we were warmly welcomed by an older lady who immediately explained how everything worked. The sanitary facilities are okay, not luxurious but acceptable. There is no Wi-Fi, but overall it’s a pleasant camping spot where you can park a camper comfortably. You can take a hot shower for two dollars and wash your clothes in cold water. We would come back.
Didn’t feel safe so left after paying - would be ok if you were arriving late / leaving early
To be avoided. The pitches are dirty and littered. The toilets looked liked they hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. Some areas used by homeless people with mental health issues - had to listen to her shouting to herself all night. Lots of pot smoking everywhere.
Fine for one night. The facility isn't the nicest, and the toilets and showers aren't very clean either. But it's cheap and the network coverage is good (it had LTE there).
$10 per adult. Land with electricity taken by the campsite staff. Hot showers for $2 but they are very dirty (bird droppings on the floor and on the walls, dead cockroaches). Some sandflies.
Pretty basic but served it purpose. Unpowered spots around the edge of the cricket pitch. One side of the pitch is for campers and the other side has permanent residence. They kept to themselves and were quiet. Hot showers, which are $2 for 5mins. Showers/ toilets were clean enough (some bird poo on the floor). When you arrive, go the club house and there’s a form to fill out with your details and a money box. $10 per person for the night. Would stay here again.
We spend 4 weeks here while working in an orchard in December. We felt very safe, we let our stuff in our tent all day and never had any issues. There are permanent resident, people were nice and helpful.
