Very nice cycle track. Excellent way to get to Manapouri from Te Anau if you are bike packing and need a rest from the highway!

The Lake2Lake Trail. A 19km looped walk/cycle. I walked it and kept as close to the river as I could following tracks that I wasn't sure was the official track but appeared safe to walk. Came across and walked a, what appeared to be a rarely used cycle track through relatively dense and uneven forest floor. It was one of the best and, at times, challenging part of the walk. Did 10 km before deciding to return the same route. A good walk with some beautiful views of the hills, particularly partsof the river, bird songs, a few rabbits and the occasional Aussie crouched down doing a dump beside a little used track. I'm sure he didn't wipe himself they way he suddenly jumped up like a kangaroo and ran/hopped off while pulling up his pants replying "Nah. Ya right mate!" after I apoligised for startling him.

Awesome bike ride, we only went to rainbow reach. There were some quite steep parts which we walked but overall a lovely track!!
