Not having much choice to sleep, we opted for this campsite which is expensive for what it is. Hot shower 4 min for 1$ in + of 55$ (one night). Kitchen with cooking plates still need to walk + washing machine 4$ (the washing machine with cold water) and 8$ the drying laundry (which dries not much elsewhere). Positive point next to the beach and the taxi boat, helpful and pleasant staff. Does the job for 1 or 2 nights.
We loved this site, clean facilities, very helpful Assistant Caretaker, helpful staff at Abel Tasman centre and helped us decide how to make best use of our time, we did one day tramp getting water taxi from right outside campsite, spent 2 nights and did our laundry(don’t need powder!) would definitely recommend and return.
The most unpleasant campsite in New Zealand. The showers cost $1 for 4 minutes and are left with the windows open (not for the faint of heart). The owners, or those filling in for them, were extremely unpleasant and unfriendly. No explanations or kindness whatsoever. The showers and toilets are outdated and not very clean. The washing machines are exclusively for staff use. The clothes dryer is ineffective. In short, AVOID this campsite.
Really nice campsite, get a good sunrise. Can walk to the start of the Abel Tasman walk.
Lovely, right by the beach. Nice bar and restaurant attached and you can book kayak / water taxi trips from the shop.
A very nice, calm campsite. Felt cosy and safe. There is laundry with dryers available, rubbish and recycling. Hot showers are $1 coin for 4 minutes.
The place is very well maintained, the common areas are very practical and clean, and the location is unbeatable. I really enjoyed staying here; the only downside is that the showers cost extra (1 NZD for 4 minutes), and I think that for the price you pay, they should be free. But I would definitely stay again; it's worth it.
Nice small cosy campsite. Close to Kayaking center and Abel Tasman National Park. Fine facilities. Clean.
Great place to stay for a few nights if you are doing one (or multiple) of the Abel Tasman Walks. Water taxi or kayak tours are located 5 mins walking down the road. Has all necessary facilities to make the stay comfortable (kitchen block, showers, clean toilets, WiFi). Note that showers are restricted to 4 mins due to water restrictions for the town. Can also recommend the Hooked on Marahau for great coffee and beers!
Expensive for the infrastructure: it's right next to the road, and the traffic is a real wake-up call in the morning. Be aware that the shower costs extra, even a cold one ($1 for 4 minutes). It's a shame you can't turn it off while you're soaping up.
