Had a brilliant stay at Old Mac's. We showed up without a booking and easily got a power site for a reasonable price. Location is excellent and easy to organise transport to Water Taxi in Marahau. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Kitchen and facilities were good, shower was hot We stayed the night after the full moon and had a great view of it rising out from behind the mountains. Would definitely recommend this and only a short walk from the start/end of Abel Tasman track!
Great experience. Met Old MacDonald himself. He showed us how to turn the heater on in the kitchen. Front staff very helpful with Abel Tasman planning and recommendations. Hot showers. Would return without a doubt.
Beautiful campground. Largest spot we’ve ever had, felt like having our own garden! Nice facilities, clean and spacious, laundry etc all good. Lady at the office was so helpful and kind getting us sorted after a late check in and an early start for kayaking the next day, I’m so grateful! Longer walk etc to centre but personally I think worth it.
This was one of our favourite campsites during our trip. It's a few minutes extra walking compared to the other two campsites, but much more tranquil. The campground is massive, and there was lots of space, and it's beautifully arranged, very lush and green. Facilities all good. The owners are also very friendly and kind hearted, making it a lovely base for us to explore Abel Tasman.
great camp ground good facilities kitchen got a little crowded but manageable nice hot showers close to kayaking and walking spots powered site two people two nights 135$ we emailed the night before and were able to secure two nights

5 🌟 for sure. So good, we decided to stay for 3 days. Everything you need and more. They will even help you get a water taxi to the golden beaches. NOTE: Google Maps will lead you to the neighbouring and more expensive camp. Go to the end of the road and enter paradise
Really nice, showers good. Quiet. Nice big powered sites not close to other cars. Easy to walk to start of Tasman path from. Good burger place fat tui 5 mins away. Pretty flowers and fun walk to glow worms. WiFi didn’t quite reach our van.
Very nice campsite close to the start of the Abel Tasman track. Eating facilities are in walking distance (Tip: the Fat Tui). The spots are very spacious and facilities are clean. Very good vibes and a great swimming spot in the lake. Some sandflies but not much at all.
What a charming, lovely and beautiful campground, and wonderful location next to entrance to Abel Tasman. Super calm and well maintained. The unpowered sites are next to the river where you can swim, and there’s lots of space! There are free hot showers, I found the water pressure to be amazing. And in general all facilities are available and clean. They might not be fancy (including not having an online booking system), but if you appreciate authenticity then this is definitely the spot.
