Also nice easy barefoot friction quasi climbing on the rocks to see the caves and cliffs from above!
A really cool place to stay!! We parked up for 2 nights right on the cliff and had it all to ourselves. You can walk down to the beach and check out the caves which are next level! Very friendly locals and quite the fishing community, riding around on their quad bikes and pulling in their nets. It’s windy but it doesn’t matter as the location supersedes the wind. You can have dogs here too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return 😊
Cave beach is destroyed by cyclone gabrielle. But beautiful little caves are accessable via long beach during low tide.
Cave Beach was absolutely unreal. Have lived in NZ 28 years and this is up there with a favorite for me, especially at sunset.
Loved this spot, gorgeous elevated veiw, clean toilets.
Wonderful beach to explore at low tide. So many photo opportunities!
Beautiful beach, even in winter!
Wonderful place ! Surely one of our favorites on the North Island. Black sand beach with lots of cellars in the cliffs. Do not hesitate to walk along the beach to the east, it's the most beautiful! As a previous comment, another version of Cathedral Cove in much wilder and much less tourists. It's definitely worth it!
Very nice place to go for a walk on the beach. Black sand and cave dug by the sea !! nice and very few people. Possibility to sleep on the spot!
Totally amazing place❤️❤️❤️
