Great spot with 3 pitches, 3 consecutive nights max - amazing sea view! Very quiet and plenty of space to get away from other campers. Note that the DOC officer comes by at the end of the day and early in the morning to check and note license plates (very kind).
Awesome view, no facilities, partially even parking lot.
Magnificent view of the sunset. We had been to the parking lot further down but there were weird people hanging around. A person who takes care of the freecamps came to speak to us very very kindly, gave us a map of the region and even offered us a pebble to make a wish. He had an OM jersey, great.
Good spot , great view and 4g phone reception to get work done . No toilet but a lot of bush to pee 🤓
Drove in and out. Lovely views but very sloped car park. No facilities. Didnt feel safe place.
We stayed night at Mana Bay which is at the end of the road from Bourkes lookout. Has 2 spots above beach and 6 spots around carpark. Don't have to be self contained as there is a toilet. Tents welcome. Thanks South Taranaki enjoyed our stay. C, R & C ?
Loved it here watching the tide come in and out. Lovely walk on the wall with the waves all around. Will stay again for sure
There are two car parks you can stay in - one where the marker is on this map (which overlooks the cliffs and has a great view), and another down by the camping ground which is more sheltered. We chose the view and stayed at the top one. Although the view was great, and there was good turning space for a caravan, the wind rocked the van all night which made for an adventure! Lots of locals come and parked up and sat for long periods in their cars, but we felt safe as they were just on their phones or eating and enjoying the view.
Good spot. If you don't want to get sandblasted at the beach, shelter on the grass at the entrance. Much quieter.
Stayed for a night in the car park area back from the beach, beautiful spot, parked up on the grass sheltered from an otherwise windy beach, lovely sunset. Would stay here again.
