We had to stay 4 nights at Waimeha Camping Village and finally stayed there for a week due to a violent storm. Greg and JP were exceptional: they moved us into a bungalow without extra charge for our safety and took care of us throughout the crisis (electricity cuts, water, more food). Beautiful campsite, ocean views, clean facilities and excellent atmosphere. Rare hospitality and generosity.
Only stopped here for a quick coffee but the place looked lovely, very chill vibe, lovely ladies running the place and friendly locals who gave us some great tips on where to stop. Super nice toilets and facilities too. Would have planned our schedule to stay the night if we had known about it earlier!
What a cheek! We paid for the campsite, but it was inaccessible due to severe weather and road closures, so we were promised a refund which we never received.
Turned up on a public holiday without a booking and still got a spot — owner is an absolute legend. Great views, super chill pub on site with solid snacks and proper end-of-the-world vibes. Facilities are decent ($2), just not that many. Solid communal kitchen (untested but promising). Laundry available. No dump station and no fresh water though — plan ahead. Very cool dogs roaming around. 8.5/10 remote pub energy. 🍺🚐
Perfect place. Nice views. Restaurant and bar on site. Clean, nice kitchenfascilities and toilets. Small fee for hot shower. However, the campsite below, by the road, is free and has a toilet.
Unobstructed ocean views, clean, well maintained facilities and a pub next door. Nice terrace to hang around, super friendly owner. Hot showers 2$. Recommend this place!
Campsite with powered or unpowered pitches, cabins too. The owner is very friendly. There is everything you need in the kitchen. It is an incredible place, far from everything, nature is crazy, seal colonies, surfing, trails, LOTR spot, a break from the world filled with serenity. Small fishing village nearby, good-natured people
A wonderful place to enjoy. John and his team are just great! We can only recommend this place! Thank you very much
One of the best places I've stayed so far! John is such a lovely guy. He gave me a tour to see the elephant seal. Be sure to stay there on Friday, because these nights are something extra!
John is such a nice and casual owner! The facilities are well maintained and is such a nice place to stay for the night! Will definitely return when visiting Cape Palliser again (:
