Nice spot after visiting hobbiton. Toilets are open all night but look like they were built on the founding of New Zealand. Pretty busy even in winter. But everyone seemed pretty friendly and quiet

Love this place. You can park here overnight on the grass right next to the sheep herd and opposite the river. Toilets are ok, flushable and relatively clean. Phone connection perfect. So much space - I would guess suitable for at least 10 camper vans. Calm place near Hobbiton, and other popular places - Hamilton, Putaruru blue spring, Maungatautari Mountain and others. However, there is no drinking water so bring your own.

Large campsite, max. 30 vehicles. Can get full even in the off-season. We arrived on 02/09/26 around 6 pm, about 20 pitches were occupied. Toilets were functional, a bit dirty. No drinking water. No trash cans, you have to take your trash with you. On the Spark network, full 5G reception. It's very quiet, the lake is beautiful. No local weirdos, no crackheads, no wannabe gangsters.

Super quiet spot for the night. Toilets were open and clean though nothing special. Nowhere to fill waters. Plenty of other people about - maybe some people there long term? - but no noise or bother. Loads of space and generally a nice spot.

It's very quiet here. Although it's a bit close to the road, it's still very peaceful at night. There's a small lake, and about seven or eight people are spending the night here. The toilets are very clean; they must have been cleaned and tidied up. It's an excellent spot for stargazing at night.

Update 19 July. Toilets are open and water is working Toilets have also been cleaned and trash has been collected that laid around making it look like a disaster. Phone connection is bad but beautiful place, more than 15+ people sleeping here.

A really great spot. On July 1st, there were maybe 15 motorhomes.

We arrived late there were still a few locations, but the network is very low. Women's toilets are chained, in men there are only urinaries and the water doesn't work

Beautiful spot right by the lake. Was pretty busy, even in May. Toilets were closed (throughout day and night) and there was a good bit of toilet paper and human waste around the toilet block.
