A stunning lakeside spot with views that make you forget you can’t swim thanks to blue-green algae. Toilets suspiciously clean for the wilderness. Only two other campervans — perfect for polite nods at mysterious locals. A long-term camper with two very alert dogs adds character (and mild intimidation). Bonus: this idyllic spot apparently once hosted a body, quietly reminding you that even paradise has its quirks. Peaceful, scenic, unforgettable.

Such a beautiful place! Felt very safe with a lot of privacy & good toilets. Unfortunately bad phone signal and at the moment not possible to swim.

Great place! By the lake, there is a large expanse of grass, under the trees! The view was magnificent! There were only 2 of us in campervans! It was very quiet! There are also 2 toilets with taps! The road to get there in the middle of the countryside was also very pleasant! We will definitely come back!!

It was a beautiful area but some local teens were playing loud loud mucks until after midnight. I don’t know if this is common but they seemed to be respectful otherwise

Stunning location next to the Waikato river. ✅ toilets 🚐 15 SC vehicles permitted, lots of space for these though. Came mid March and we were the only campers. No other amenities. Well worth the stop between Waitomo/Rotorua/Hobbiton.

An amazing spot! super beautiful and quiet when we were there, only us and one other car. there was a local 4wd driving around in the morning though making noise. and also a local dog running around. but a beautiful place and great views. flish toilets as well!

Lovely spot, some cellphone reception now closer to toilets. Packed by locals during the day, super quiet at night. Just a stunning spot. We parked our van up on the river edge. Some locals do leave their dogs to roam while out on boats however and was a bit annoying to our dog on a long lead
