Nice place to camp, stayed one night with my NSC,$5 per vehicle, toilet very clean
Overall nice experience! You pay only 5 dollars for one night. You can pay online or cash there. To be able to use the shower and kitchen sink you need to have a penny card. You can buy it for 6 dollars from a shop 4min walk from the camping. Quite clean and with a good phone signal.
Wonderful experience with clean toilets and good facilities. Plenty of space for vehicle parking and tent pitching. It can be a bit noisy at night as there are no time restrictions on entry/exit. Campers need to buy a KiwiCash/penny card for $6 from a nearby shop, easily topped up by card. Booking is via the Penny app. Entry fee is $5 per vehicle. Showers cost $2. No booking check, but we paid to be responsible.
Small camping carpark in the city, facing a repair for trucks. Clean shower/toilet, just 1 for women and 1 for men. Kitchen available but we didn’t use it as the water sink is not free. Barrier to enter the carpark was broken. Fresh water available and dumping station. Not the best camping we had but good enough for 1 night. Power available
Both the men’s and women’s toilets were completely blocked, as were the showers with the water overflowing from the drains. No power access in the kitchen and the powered sights are far away from the tarmac so cannot use these unless you want to get stuck. I can imagine this campsite would be fine in summer, but unfortunately it is not well maintained. No signal at the campsite.
Great spot for one night, $5 which you can pay in cash in the kitchen. Flushable toilet with sink. Everything else requires the kiwi cash app to use.
Great small camping. To pay for the stay you need the kiwi / penny tag, and the app. For the stay is 5 dollars. If you want to have a shower, it's 2 dollars using the kiwi tag. I think there is also and option to use power for you camper.
Great little campsite. Flat ground with a few benches. $5 per vehicle which can be cash or through your Penny card. The sink in the kitchen was 50c for 5 mins - the showers were $2 for 5 mins. These both require a Penny card. Highstreet is a very close walk with some shops.
Very cute and comfortable stay. Just on the outskirts of a small town so has a homey feel to it. Getting then kiwicash was annoying at first but it's so worth it and still way cheaper than most places around. Stayed here to do a tour with Waitomo Cave Adventires - 30 min drive to tour. Facilities are very clean and spacious :)
Great and cheap campsite, facilities are very clean, thank you so much to the volunteers!
