Parking zone for campers only, but unfortunately the ground is slightly sunken, so you park/lie at an angle. The toilets were clean, but only one of the two was open. The road is quiet at night, so you only hear the occasional vehicle.

Solid spot: two sections of street side parking designated for vans/campers with grass to the side. The closer bathroom closes sometime before 8pm and opens sometime before 7am. There is another bathroom open all night at the visitors center, which is walkable distance down the street.

Not very pretty, squeezed between the railway and the road, but it's perfect for a night in an area with few free campsites. Noisy during the day but really quiet at night. Clean and open toilets.

Okay to park up for night if you need, nothing special at all

Nothing special but it does the job. We felt safer here than at the other freedom spots in the area, however the road is very loud and the trains will shake your vehicle all night! For one night it was OK and we had no issue finding space

if you are looking for a places close to waitomo caves it’s ok, there is a toilet, warehouse and new world across the street, but noisy street and railway during the night

Right on the street, small picnic tables next to it. The toilet itself was clean, but the room was dirty. In principle completely fine, we still went to the Sheep Statue because it seemed quieter.

Good place to sleep, there are bathrooms but they close at night. Nice place, there is lighting, cars pass because it is on the street but they don't bother

Long parking space for campers. There is a toilet but not open 24/7. It’s next to the railway, but we didn’t hear anything during the night. Shops nearby. Nice and easy spot near the caves.

We were a little unsure of this before getting there, but lots of other camper vans there reassured us and it ended up being a nice little spot. Two toilets a short walk away, one closes 1730-0800, the other is open 24/7.
