Pretty location and cosy little Cafe across the road but very noisy road and only 1 crappy toilet/shower.
Lovely spot, right on the river. Very neat and clean with each space having plenty of room and its own picnic bench. The cabins looked great too. All very well maintained. Lovely helpful staff. Can even watch the paddling on the river as itβs a shared space with the paddling club (though they are out of the way of any camping). I would stay here for more days - especially at the cost. One of our nicest sites weβve stayed at in 2 weeks here.
Spent four nights there as a base for visiting old friends and family in the area. Bathroom a bit dated but perfectly clean and a nice hot shower. No problems at all. If you want an affordable stopover, great. If you want 5 star, go to the Pullman in Auckland and pay $300 a night.
Our stay was superb - we had a really warm welcoming on arrival and were given a WiFi code along with a short tour of the site. The views were spectacular and we were moved to an even better bay that originally promised. You are right on the water and have toilet and shower facilities. It was quiet, peaceful and tranquil and there's a tree nursery across the road that sells coffee and avocados.
*Please note when you go to the website it specifies you must be self-contained to stay.*
Lovely location, great facilities, but lots road noise overnight midweek.
Recommended to managers at Tuakau Hotel that they make and display a sign at the front gate instructing you to go to the Tuakau Hotel in the Tuakau township to register. It is then you will receive the code to open the entry gate.
Great stop-over on the banks of the Waikato. Highly recommend if you don't mind the hum of traffic.
Great spot. Luckily we rang while in Tuakau so collected information and water key while there. Right on river. Bit of road noise through to evening but a great spot. Now has a shower and toilet in the laundry. Loved it!
Great spot on the river. Good gravel sites, good laundry, road can be busy but ok during the night. To book in need to go to hotel in Tuakau. If you have big rig park round the corner at dump site and walk to pub only couple of min. Or ring or email to get gate code so you can get onto park.
