Welcome to Farewell Gardens at Port Puponga, the perfect place to relax and explore Golden Bay and the magnificent west coast beaches, including famous Wharariki Beach.

Farewell Gardens is a small and tranquil holiday camp, situated right beside the sea at the base of Farewell Spit, the longest sand spit in New Zealand. Puponga beach is a safe beach for swimming or kayaking, and at low tide you can walk close to the resident seal colony at Abel Head.

We offer a variety of options, from tent and campervan sites, caravan and cabin through to a fully self-contained apartment.

The camp boasts well established gardens with large sites for a relaxing stay, with many mature native and exotic trees providing shelter and privacy, and abundance of native birds.
