Stayed here for 2 nights and there was nobody else. Cold showers, clean toilets, very peaceful. Lots of bugs at night as you are surrounded by trees. Some sheep as you drive it. You can see the ocean, but I wouldn't call it ocean front - about a 10min steep walk down to the beach camp site. Overall a nice place to stay with plenty of spots, but 17.50pp is a bit steep.

Lovely quiet campground. Was the only one there on a Saturday evening in May. Super close to Fourforty MTB Park.

Avoid at the moment (end March) if you’re anaphylactic to wasps. They’re everywhere. (Beach and campsite) The rangers are doing their best to destroy their nests. Sadly we have to leave. We do love it here though. And we’ll be back when the wasps die off for the year. Fingers crossed.

So excited after getting my booking confirmed. Broke my time record and took it out to 30 minutes to complete the process. I hope the next one is longer! Come on Auckland City Council get up with the times. Ps is there anyway I can get my minutes for cell phone off the cost of the booking. I'm a Kiwi feel so sorry for tourists from overseas to have to put up with this 50 year old process.

Reasonably level with long drop, cold outdoor shower and drinking water. No dump station. Very peaceful.
