The area gets quite crowded in the morning and early afternoon. Good facilities: potable water, accessible bathrooms, outdoor beach showers

A great location with restrooms right next door and plenty of parking! People come early in the morning to stroll along the beach.

Great freedom campsite right at the beach! There was even a pop-up sauna when we were there! Very quiet but full of campervans at night.

Freedom camping however limited to certain time periods as per the signage. Was a bit confusing to work out especially as we arrived in the dark, however we were moved along by a friendly security guard at 11pm and parked up at Tuapiro Reserve down the road instead which has no limitations (as far as we are aware)

NO CAMPING until after Easter Monday. Lovely spot though and would be great for when it’s allowed! Private single stall flush toilets with cold showers outside!

very beautiful spot on the beach however you’re not allowed to camp here from october to february. security was very nice to let us know to leave

Incredible spot in winter! The signs are contradictory (some indicate 5 spots, others indicate the whole esplanade).

Very nice spot! With clean toilets and outdoor cold showers next door. Small children's park across the road and direct access to the beach. There is also a walk departure point right next door.
