That was our first place we stayed at with our van. We wanted to stay at a free one originally but they were already gone and we were so pleased to find a spot here. Easy check in and perfect place to be. Just peaceful and not far from the seal colony (walked there on next day). Would strongly recommend
Out of this world views of mountains (esp with snow caps!) and ocean. $ worth it for this alone! Walk across road to beach. Only facilities-Potable water, Rubbish bins, fully self contained otherwise. A surprising gem-basic but beautiful, the owner was pleasant on the phone and in person.
Beautiful Campsite in a field looking out to sea. Didn't find the owner miserable at all?! He has thoughtfully mown a path with a couple of stiles to get to the clean flushable toilets on the other side of the road, 2 mins walk. Very peaceful night 👌🏼
The owner is miserable. The location isn’t worth 25$. Even the free campsites offer better utilities!! This one has nothing! Please don’t give your money to that miserable person.
The owner was exceptionally rude on arrival, despite the fact it was him who did not honour our booking made three weeks in advance (and re-confirmed that day). He stated that he wasn’t to know we were still coming, and put us in his car park, with no gesture of goodwill as we were charged the same as the people in the campsite. You get nothing more than the freedom camping spot down the road (same view), in fact it’s worse as you’re further from the toilet!
Great location. Only 10mins walk to the Peninsula Walkway. Nice flat field with a herd of cows as company. Loved it. Peter is a lovely fella and nothing was a problem. We did his sheep shearing show the next afternoon and it was well worth it. Really interesting. Also he doesn’t rush you out the next day. Would definitely stay again. Real easy check-in as well. $25 cash in an envelope with your name and van reg. on the gate. Would definitely recommend this site. David & Debbie UK
There is a portable toilet on site, and on the other side of the road (there is also a short path across the meadows) there are also toilets and cold showers.
Superb location, a 10-minute walk from the seal colony and the beautiful hiking trail. $25 for two people with a campervan, payable at the entrance. No facilities, but perfectly flat ground and picnic tables. Mountain and sea views. If you haven't found a spot in the free Jimmy parking lot (which fills up quickly), I recommend this campground. Very quiet day and night.
Beautiful views, across from ocean and short walk to seal colony. Self- contained only, drinking water and trash/ recycle. Cash only. enjoyed the quiet, sheep and views of dolphins and seals from our campsite. Our money was collected by young man when driving in who was very polite.
The campsite has wonderful views, the only good thing you pay for. It has no services whatsoever, and the owner is incredibly rude. He told us over the phone how to pay, leaving the money and our details in the cashier at the entrance. Then, at 6:30 a.m., he woke us up, banging on the campervan door in a rage because we hadn't paid. After telling him the money was in the cashier, and checking, he didn't even bother to apologize. People like that don't deserve such a beautiful place.
