25$ per person for a powered site. Kitchen was alright. Everything was clean!
This place was ok - facilities were clean, but showers not much more than a dribble and you weren’t able to top up water, and the beach is very rocky. They had wifi but it was very slow.
Unfortunately we were really disappointed with the campsite. For $108 for four of us to stay at a powered site for 1 night we would have hoped to at least be able to fill up our water tank. We understand water is a commodity on the East Coast but campers should be able to fill up their drinking water supply. They had 1 tap with very low pressure and asked us to not fill our tank. Wifi was very slow and cut in and out. . A gaming room or place to hang out during rain would
We enjoyed our stay here. Close to Gisbourne, we did the tatapouri sting ray tour which was so cool to do. Campsite facilities good. Friendly staff. Free showers although they are basically cold, the warm water doesn’t run for very long. Quite an expensive campsite for non powered but decent enough. Can easily walk down to the beach. Phone signal okay.
Check in was a breeze, unpowered site for $49:00 2 people, great sites close to the ocean. Camp kitchen facilities clean and tidy, gas cook tops all in working order. Men's showers ok, press button style to release water, single stream of water not ideal. Women's showers warm water only, not hot. Take care on the tile floors as they are very slippery when wet, otherwise great location to camp for a couple of nights after the journey along the Pacific Coast Highway.
A really nice place with everything you need. The kitchen and bathrooms are very clean and the whole place is right by the sea 😎.
For me as a bikepacker, a wonderful place to stay for two nights. The kitchen is great, as are the toilets and showers. The only disadvantage for me was that I didn't have any shopping options, the café is currently only open on Saturdays and Sundays. Price has also changed, one night without electricity for 25.50 NZD.
A nice quiet spot with friendly owners and decent enough facilities. Please note there is lots of debris on the beach and shallow rocks that makes swimming difficult and that no camp sites have views as they are all blocked by glamping set ups
Nice and quiet this time of year, lovely campsite with clean facilities.
Disappointing for what you pay; water completely cut out in shower and didn’t come back on mid hair wash, booked powered site and map left for us was circled wrong but pitch number at the top was different & there was a long termer on the plot they booked us on. All pitches are only grass and it rained so it turned into a swamp and was very slippy
