A wonderful camp by the river. The camp kitchen was amazing and we loved the hot bath under the stars. Lovely hot showers and spotless loos. Highly recommend.
Great location and a lovely welcome from the hosts. Camping/RV site down by the river. Rankers’ information needs updating as two powered sites (we used one). Recommend pre-booking. Luckily we had host who guided us to the RV site (not obvious where to go). Good communication via website www. Waiwhenua. Co. Nz and host (we were booking online as the host drove up!). Site has ‘bush baths’ which looked fun and we’re being fired up whilst we were there. Mobile signal can be a bit sketchy (best we got was 3G as of November 2022) but a fantastic location on this working farm if you want a quiet, off-the-grid, secluded stay.
Beautiful spot! We were there all alone and spent a great night there. It is very well equiped, nothing is missing. We went there by bike, a bit tough to get back to the road but certainly duable. It‘s 10km from the road
A really lovely Campsite. You will enjoy it. Such a great idea with the bush kitchen, the bush baths etc. We loved to stay there. We made all the way down on the gravel road by bicyles with our luggage. And we are proud of it. To all car drivers: Imagine that way by using a bicyle with luggage on it and you will say nothing more about the way.
The campsite could handle some cosmetic corrections but the value for money is right. We were almost alone and paid only $ 12 per person. The approach unfortunately leads over a long and difficult gravel road.
As always a great quite spot with only a couple of other vehicles here a very unique place and well worth the drive from napier or hastings
Thankyou so much for having this beautiful spot available. Highly recommend it. My grandchildren 12, 10 and 6 loved the river, chickens, bush kitchen, tubing, Frosty the goat and fire pit. We hiked to the top of the hill and played hide n seek in the pine trees. Only 3 other vehicles so plenty of room with many fire puts and outdoor tables. Rustic shower (open ceiling with trees as a canopy) and longdrop, but plenty of hot water.
“Thanks for coming to stay. Yes we hoped that Frosty and the chickens were going to popular! Spread to good word for us and hope we will see you back sometime soon. Thanks Kirsty”
A really nice place! However, the double price for Full Fascilities is not justified! You only see after you have paid what you expect.
“I am sorry that you think the facilities on offer are not up to your expectations. We feel that we offer some truly unique features at our camp that you will not find anywhere else in a private camp area in NZ. We offer our Riverside Park on our private land to those that want to experience a truly unique kiwi experience - private location, back to nature and the magic of the river setting. We are proud to offer guests this experience and take great care in doing so.”
Make sure you read all the information before coming. It’s quite an adventure to the camp, but well worth it. This place is a little slice of heaven. Thank you for sharing it with us!
“Awesome- We love guests finding our little slice of heaven and getting to experience real quality camping !”
This isn't just a campsite, it's an experience. The spot has a bit of magic about it, the bush baths??!!!We highly recommend to spend a couple of nights here. Loved it.
“Thanks for coming to visit. We are pleased that you liked the bush baths!”
