Don’t stay here. Any spot next to the road is as good. Toilets complete abandoned. If you can spare to drive Amore 30/45 minutes keep going down the street until you see a sign toward the Mangatutu Hot Springs. Keep going till the very end, you will pass through some gates by it’s amazing! Beautiful campground with drip toilets, hot springs!! And the next morning you can go for a long hike to the hut and stay there (25$tho) for another set of hot springs.
Very quiet and good sheltered tables, but dirty toilets in the forest. Fine for one night, but not recommended for solo travellers. No phone signal!
It’s right on the road, but nobody hardly drives past there. There’s no phone reception. There are flushable toilets, but they aren’t great. There’s shelter with benches. It’s good for a stop for a night.
Well maintained walk through beautiful virgin forest, definitely worth stopping here.
Love this wee spot for its beautiful old forest walk nearby. Perfect for camping before walks in the Kaweka ranges. Toilets and sheltered tables.
Absolutely beautiful and humbling old growth forest next to this small car park makes the drive worth it, but allow a good hour from Napier despite what Google maps might say. Nice flush toilets, water and undercover picnic table. But the highlight is really the forest!
