We arrived at 17:30 which was a bit late, we had to pay $80 for 2 persons with camper, wich is the highest we payd, was the price right? Accomomdation was clean but a bit poor, location is perfect for visiting the park
The campground's location is excellent for accessing the Ketetahi parking area and taking the shuttle to the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. However, the nightly rate is, in my opinion, excessive ($80 for a serviced site) for the off-season, especially with the lack of free Wi-Fi.
Nice reception, clean and well equipped kitchen.
Quiet and amazing. Great bathrooms and shower area. Super clean and comfortable. I had decent signal but got wifi for me and my friends just in case but didn’t really need it. It was a little spotty, but still worked. Staff was so kind and helpful. I loved it here and was just the refresh we needed to continue our journey in our little camper van.
Very cosy and not to big. Nice owners an helpfull. Small powered sites. Very expensive 80 nzd espezially because the stow didn't work probably. Both the bbq were out of order. The place is very worn down. If somebody would point it and make things working it would be very nice.
Friendly staff, hot showers, kitchen facilities, flush toilets WiFi paid extra, phone signal fluctuates
Place looks tired and drab , but facilities all work well. Cheek to pay extra $5 for a little WiFi
Well-maintained campsite, friendly welcome, plenty of clean sanitary facilities, nice kitchen, laundry, games/TV room. The pitches aren't huge. Very convenient for the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, shuttle service from the campsite with Tongariro Expeditions.
Great camp, 5 mins from the Tongariro crossing car park. Staff were polite and helpful and facilities were clean. Not the best signal, but I'm with Spark and had data most of the time.
We were very disappointed by the poor condition of the place. Everything seemed ancient and some parts were no longer repaired. The reception was unfriendly, as we arrived around 6 pm. Wi-Fi was only available for a fee, which was terrible since we had no internet access. Planning for the next day was impossible. The showers were clean, but we didn't feel comfortable. It's better to drive a few kilometers further.
