Wow just wow. If you are. Going to do the tama lakes as well I'd say go the northern route then do tama lakes then come back and see falls and exit via Southern entry. That way you see everything and also helps with the amount of energy your body uses. That's what I did.
Maybe my favorite Track after 11 months on New Zealand. I worth to go the upper Track first.
Superb walk of 2h / 2h30. Well worth it compared to the effort we put in it. It hardly goes up. I recommend starting with the lower falls to return to the upper. By cons there are indeed many people on the shots of noon. As a result I recommend doing it between 7am and 10am to enjoy.
Easy walk of about 2 hours, the waterfall in the middle is really beautiful, but there are many people. The path to reach the waterfall changes continuously, forest, steppe, swamp ... It's really beautiful!
Amazing walk after a dumping of snow absolutely magical!!
Nice walk but wouldn‘t really recommend it on a rainy day. A lot of water on steps and walk ways that you‘ll most likely step into at some point. It certainly happened to me a few times. I‘d imagine the waterfall to be beautiful on a sunny day though!
Amazing 2 hours walk in a beautiful place.
Loved this short and simple walk with a nice reward at the middle of it. I preferred the walk from low to high as you get to see the waterfalls from below as you walk towards them. Also most people did it in the other direction so we met them briefly versus having to follow them up the track. A nice track to rest your feet after the big Tongariro crossing.
Nice track to the waterfall with great views of the volcano
Nice and easy walk, great access to both ends of the falls!
