It was overall a nice place, although there is constant machine sound throughout the night, but that probably wouldn't bother many people. Toilets were OK. I recommend doing a Mount Aubrey hike, beautiful views 😊
Toilets were clean but we were the only ones there so it was preeeetty spooky with all the birds making children-like screams, but that's probably just us lol. Other than that a rather loud machinery noise could be heard throughout the whole night coming probably from the other side of the bay. Not bad allround tho.
Perfect quiet place to do Mount Aubrey (Mount Manaia being closed), the toilets are clean.
You have to ride up on the last. Small passage, but with 6 persons camper wanted it just. There is a hole in the road, and the branches are somewhat low and dense on the sides and top. Place itself fine. There are 2 toilets. Beach is close.
Quiet sheltered place great for kiwispotting at night. Saw some of them on the track. You can hear them from camp.
Clean toilets and a nice grassy reserve near the carpark. The drive is up short by very steep and not suitable for larger motor homes. Just below is the marine reserve with great snorkeling at high tide only.
Very quiet parking lot with a beautiful view of the surrounding area, but not on the waterfront, contrary to what some photos or comments might suggest. Approximately 4 spaces. Functional and clean toilets. Picnic tables. Short, narrow and very steep climb to reach the parking lot. Starting point for hikes.
This was the best place we've been so far, quiet and really beautiful, with a very short walk to an empty beach. The toilets were clean.
Great place with good views. Accessible walkpath and the toilet are clean. There is not a lot authorized place to sleep though so arrive in advance. The authority was kind enough to let us sleep for a night even if it was full.
Lovely place, clean toilets!
