The system that tells you if spaces are available isn't working; unfortunately, I went and they were all taken. The place looks very nice, but I recommend going early to get a spot.

Very nice place on the lake. Super view, beautiful sunrise.- and sunset. Unfortunately there are only 3 seats. We were lucky to get one. The booking system is not quite mature. So it makes sense not to come so late. In August now probably no problem. No toilet nearby!!!

Beautiful place but only three spots. And as other people have already mentioned, people arrive way too early to reserve their spots without checking in. Disappointing experience

People do not respect the 6pm arrival time. Do a drive by earlier 5:30-5:45 and check for campers. If those campers are there at 6pm call the council on +64 3 443 7243 and report them. $400 fine for not adhering to the rules.

Do NOT waste your time going here. Even though the online status will say all 3 locations are available, you will show up and all spots will be taken by small vans that may or may not be self contained. Also, there is no reason for this campsite to only be 3 spots. There is a ton of room in the area.

There is a public bathroom at 600 meters. At 21 hs a private truck came to the screams and badly spoken to throw out those who were outside the 3 designated places.

It is meant to be for self contained vans but gets hugged by small vans with a self contained sticker on them which are not self contained well before the check in time and council does nothing about it. Don’t waste your time.

Arrive early and get your spot. No one respect the rules of arriving after 6pm. I tried to do the right thing, and ended up with no spots. Unfortunately that's the way it goes, you have to chose, take the risk to arrive early or end up with no parking spots.
