Nice campsite, we were the only campers there and it was very peaceful. We stayed before Abel Tasman Great Walk, we tried all the freedom sites but they were full so chose this as a last resort but it was okay as only $12.50pp paid in cash via honesty box. No facilities so need to be self contained
Very nice campsite. We arrived at 8:30pm but we were only 2 campervans and even if there is neither shower nor toilets, it's only 12.5$ per person per night.
Between the green hills in de meadow, beautiful place. When we were there, only two other guests. Only 5 minutes drive from Marahau. We stayed 2 nights. You can registrate yourself and pay cash. Wifi and fresh water fine, $12.50 pppn.
Beautiful situation campsite. Only for self contained who wanna use their toilet. There is a container with a sink and benches and a lot of space. Water is recommended to be boiled. They ask you to pay by bank transfer. I have ANZ Bank and it was no problem. Wifi is good. And there are sheep too.
Beautiful campsite with lots of privacy, benches and good WiFi - but no network. BUT: 12.50 NZD per person and no toilets? Apparently thanks to the location near the national park, where others charge at least 30 NZD. Paying was complicated: no cash, only bank transfer, but many banks don't recognize the IBAN. We had to set up a Wise account first. There is a washing area, lots of water taps, but drinking water has to be boiled. 12.50 NZD for so little? Pretty cheeky.
Great cost-effective option if you're SC. Quiet site, plenty of space, great views of surrounding hills. Water taps around the edge of the site, but not sure if you have to boil first? Check with owner. Small covered washing up/eating area in a small shipping container. If you're happy finding a shower elsewhere, this is a great option less than 10mins from Marahau if you're doing things at Abel Tasman National Park.
We were alone the first night, and two people the second night. Very quiet, the sheep are right across the street and make camping even more special 🐑😊 perfect campsite if you plan on hiking in the Abel Tasman - it's about a 5 minute drive to the water taxi.
Nice place, lots of flat ground, very quiet beside bird sound Cost 12.5$/person No reception, but free wifi !!
Amazing place! The owner, Elaine, is very kind and lovely. You can pay by D/C or cash at the self check-in counter at the entrance to the campsite. I was alone there at Christmas the 25th. Still, a quiet secluded place, for a small fee. Definitely recommend to stay here! You can make a reservation through DoC, but note that it is nog a guarantee for a spot!
Description fits, large meadow and very quiet. WiFi works great, we stood at the entrance. No toilets!!! When you register yourself, there is a note saying that neither showers nor toilets can be offered at the moment. Cost 12.50 dollars pp
