It is a parking lot next to park. It was quiet and one other camper arrived after us. The highway is close and we heard it early in the morning- if you simply need a safe spot to sleep this is fine.
There is still a sign for the freedom camping. The toilets are the ones of the building, they were closed when we arrived at 5.30pm. We didn’t stay there but it seems quiet and flat !
There was really nowhere else to go so we stayed here, quiet and simple car park with a certified freedom camping sign.
This place is ideal if you are traveling at night in your self-contained campervan, have nowhere else to go, and need an emergency spot to sleep only. And then depart as soon as possible in the morning! This is what I did last night, traveling alone, and of course I found this official local council approved freedom camping site, thanks to this CamperMate smartphone app. But I wouldn't call it a campsite: it would be better described as a small parking lot. Oh, and the concrete factory next door started up at 5am with noisy trucks loading. I was happy with this background noise, because it meant I could start my little Honda 1kW petrol driven generator without bothering anybody, due to background noise. The satellite Google Map view was way out of date it appears.
