If you have enough time on the Forgotten World Highway enjoy this short walk of 20 minutes to the nice Mt Damper Falls. It goes through farmland and bushes/forest. Remember the advice before: not on the first platform is the best view, go further the steps down to the next viewing platform!
Nice easy short walk from the carpark to the lookout. If you want to stretch your legs while driving on the forgotten highway, you should definitely stop there! there's toilet and 2 picnic tables
It is a place worth visiting. The waterfalls more than 70 meters high are rare. It takes 20 minutes to cross the farm. It is the lamb breastfeeding period. Many lambs follow their mothers to eat and graze.
So worth it. Note when you get to the Lookout there a way better one down the stairs.
Very awesome fall. Was raining so waterfall was amazing!
Paved all the way to the carpark Nice view good for little walk No signal around this area so make you download offline maps or follow signs well
A warning about the road out to this that we didn't get: the road can be pretty rough in spots. We drove a Toyota Estima and there were spots we barely made it through. Specifically a huge pothole across the entire road on a very steep hill with lots of loose gravel, we almost lost control on it. Just a warning, if you don't have a good car for bad road conditions: beware.
Fantastic views. Well worth the detour to view this. If you are touring over the forgotten highway then this is a must do. The walk from carpark to falls is an easy 15-20 mins.
Went today and wasn’t worth the detour... Not much water coming down. Very impressive height and you can tell it would be cool after rain, but as it’s summer, not as impressive. Short enough hike to it and the 16km road to it is good
Beautiful walk to the falls, through a sheep pasture and a little jungle. The road to the falls is absolutely good and just 16km drive from the highway. Worth it to stop at the highest waterfall in NewZealand
