So peaceful. Free hot showers. Hardly anyone here and plenty of space if there was. We pulled right up to the lake and enjoyed sunset and sunrise. Just follow the link to make a reservation.

This place is beautiful. We stayed 2 consecutive nights (Fri and Sat) and it was quiet with plenty of room. Maybe 10-12 other vans there, but everyone is spaced far apart. There are flushless toilets, and a hot shower! I did some trout fishing but didn’t catch anything unfortunately. Road down is not great, there are pot holes and stones. Highly recommend.

Arrived at night in the dark, hard to see things but there was plenty space. Some dogs barking but that was it. Toilet clean, did not use the shower. Other than that mainly raining so didn’t see much, it was ok in the rain if you think about where you park. Internet mediocre.

Large space on the shore of the lake, one can easily find a place in the quiet. Dry toilets and hot shower very appreciable. A few spaces with sheltered tables. A place to recommend !!

Wonderful freedom campground!Beautiful view and atmosphere. Easy to get the permit and there is FREE HOT SHOWER! Love it!

Lovely spot even in the pouring rain! Really peaceful, loads of space too. Long drip toilets. Council did a rubbish run first thing in the morning. Would definitely stay again 😊 Apply for a free permit with South Waikato Council.

Such a lovely spot! Drop toilets, hot showers, bbq areas, beautiful scenery, plenty of space for everyone. Getting the permit is really easy. Thank you for making it possible to stay here!
