Great spot right on the Waikato river trail. We went back to the park by the bus cafe(500 metres) in the morning to use the toilets and paid shower
Great spot to stop for the night, quiet and peaceful.
Beautiful, peaceful spot to stay. We like it so much we returned for another night after a week. We kayaked down past the swing bridge that the walk/cycle path goes over and the river was beautiful with steep cliffs on either side and no noise at all except for the birds. ?
This is a fantastic spot, plenty of room on grassy areas. Very quiet & peaceful, lots of Tui & Bell Bird singing in the mornings. We have used this site many times and will certainly continue to come here. Mangakino is a lovely MH Friendly village with shops, Cossy Club. Dump Station etc. This area is closed in Winter because of ground condition in wet weather. ENJOY YOUR STAY. Laurie & Judy
17.11.20 Stayed for a night. Lovely spot. Very quiet. Lovely scenery. Great for bikers. Ata's Bar & Eatery in Mangakino town has lovely coffee and really yummy muffins.
Beautiful awesome spot. Very quiet. Lots of bird music. We thought by comments it wasn't open but it certainly is.. Glad we found it
This site is now closed with a chain and a large sign saying this freedom camping site is now closed... The sign directs the reader to various traditional camp grounds..
Beautiful spot thanks to everyone concerned that makes it possible for allowing us to park in such pristine surroundings.
Another great spot.
Lovely lovely place to park up and recharge for a few days BUT follow the GPS at your peril, you get sent down a no exit street!
