Really well written story about Guy Menzies’ trans-Tasman aviation feat. It’s amazing to think how risky and brave it was. The story is more interesting and well written than I thought it would be. I loved the wry euphemistic way they alluded to opium usage by miners, as well as the way the locals took various aircraft parts & tools “for safe keeping” but were indignant when accused of theft! And it ends with an undertone of faint bitterness that Menzies never returned to Hari Hari after touring NZ. Awesome story, very well told, and only takes 5 mins to read. Read it to your kids, they’ll love it.
Read the aviator's story! It is amazing, a great story of adventure and derring-do, as well as Kiwi hospitality. You don't enter the building, read the story and see the replica plane through glass. There's a donation box for this and for the toilets. Worth a gold coin!

Nice plane! Very informative
Have a Look if you are heading for a toilet. Only a replica.
It's only a replica with interesting little displays with information. Situated right at the road. The toilet next to it is very clean!
