Had good cell service (skinny mobile) and toilets were really clean. Even had a sink to wash dishes. It’s a beautiful spot right by the lake — very relaxing and even great as „just“ a lunch stop :)
Clean place Calm place
On 06/02/26, all 3 toilets were open. Didn't sleep here, but no cell service. 3 sinks. Lots of sandflies.
The square is currently closed because it is partially flooded.
All 3 Toilets closed (septic tank problems)
Great views but slightly tilted site for vans. Plenty of sandflies so pack the bug spray. Flush toilets were very clean and traffic along the neighbouring road at night not as annoying as you’d think. If you get there on a nice day, definitely have a swim!
Very new DOC campsite on the lake. 3 toilets and 1 sink for washing dishes. Very nice place, certainly on the roadside. But during our night at this campsite, very few people were passing by. We recommend this campsite, where in summer, when the weather is nice, it must be super nice to swim in the lake! FYI: no phone signal
Good facilities and nice view over the lake. The noise of the street and the many people stopping here for a quick view and a toilet visit however made it our most displeasing camping site we stayed at. Also the sandflies have been the worst for us here.
The site is rather small and close to the road. Otherwise a nice location by the lake and the toilets were new and nice. Our main issue was the sandflies and mosquitoes.
Paid online in advance to stay here based on the reviews. I arrived late afternoon, yes the toilets are lovely and new and flush which is rare for a site like this. The lake is nice enough, however, it is just a very small gravel car park, right next to the road so can imagine it’s pretty noisy. I didn’t end up staying as there were loads of flies, and no one else turned up - it’s pretty in the middle of nowhere, as a solo camper I didn’t want to risk it.
