The location is appealing, but the toilets don't look promising even from the outside, and there are too many sandflies. There were spent rifle cartridges on the floor. I drove on.
Really good overnighter. Plenty of room in many areas, large February, easy access for big caravans etc. Quiet and secluded but great open feeling here. Just excellent! Sure there are heaps of Sandflies, but just cover yourself with Deet and get on with it. Highly recommended.
Spread out carpark, two bathroom locations, nice view around and access to a decent walk. Sand flies are terrible here.
Our camper was broken into during our hike to Lake Daniels.
Toilet is really dirty - costs are 15$ per person.
If you’re lucky with the weather you will have a good view on the mountain peak. Nice spot, three drop toilets, lots of space for bigger vehicles, water tab
Stopped off to check this road side DOC site out before paying. Glad we did - worst long drops we’ve seen/used - the bottom long drop is almost full! Lots of sandflies. Nearby Edison wall interesting! Pitches are a bit waterlogged. We didn’t stop!
Beautiful place with access to a very pretty river and some hiking trails to Lake Daniell and its hut! On the other hand, lots and lots of insects even at the end of May. Presence of mice on the site, lock your vans well to avoid ending up with a stowaway like us! Presence of toilets and non-potable water points.
A lovely scenic valley. Long drop toilets and water. Plenty of sandflies, bumblebees and wasps, watch out for the Wekas, they will steal anything they can get their hands on.
Absolutely stunning scenery but so hard to enjoy it with the amount of sandflies. The worst we’ve seen in 4 months, toilets were okay
