Nice place in the middle of bushes/trees but lots of sandflies and not lot of space for bigger campers
If you’re doing section hikes/ the TA then perspective is different but if you’re in a campervan it’s not good. Not worth the $10 per person (free if you have the trail pass) The toilet is almost full and the worst smelling toilet we’ve used in our 3 month trip. The campsite is pretty small and spaces quite narrow. Showers at the education centre ($6) are pretty blocked up but ok and there are flushing toilets in there as well. Sandflies are really bad.
This is a DOC campsite 8$ per night You have the DOC pass is actually first come first serve Pit toilets Showers at the Boyle river outdoor Education center (fee apply) closed at 5 pm 12 sites only
Beautiful place quite hidden so great, we don't have the impression of bothering the locals like in many other campsites. Great because the tents are welcome. However, lots of sandfly and toilets that smell strong (but clean). Payment is not very secure.
Dog poo alley! Watch out for it. Nice place for a swim, 5 min walk from campsite. CCTV cameras everywhere.
Ideal spot for the night. Very peaceful. There is a great swimming hole for a refreshing dip, along the track, past the old concrete chimney to the river.
Lovely spot, also suitable for tents.
Great swimming hole off the end of the campsite, past the old concrete chimney and straight on.
Great spot for the night. Fee box is away for repairs.
Small, quiet, adequate, toilet, nice easy river walk. Hesitant about leaving my money in a very insecure box. Come on DOC you can do better. This does not encourage campers to leave money.
