Not the best. Located in the city centre, a lot of cars come and go during the night. Toilets open all night.

It’s alright if you are a backpacker passing by to meet other backpackers despite of some noise, loud music and weird people, toilet is usually ok but tonight someone broke everything in the male toilet (the hand wash machine, broke the toilet roll dispenser and left it empty)

We were 2 girls and we arrived around 20 to this parking. There was a weird man that we suppose was a d*ug dealer or something, because cars keep coming to him in a span of 1 hour. Then some of them started talking with us and we didn’t feel very safe. The toilets nearby were ok and maybe it would have been ok for one night, but we decided to leave to a better one. Would only recommend if it is your only option.

0/10, would not recommend unless you want to listen to loud Spanish people talk and play music all evening and night

It's reassuring to be there because there are a lot of backpackers working in the kiwis and toilets nearby. However, the spaces seem to be occupied by ordinary people...

I was very skeptical at first, but when we were asked about drugs, we decided to go. There were a lot of strange characters there.

Only non-drinkable water in the dump station. In the park is bbq, where may be a drinkable, but we did not risk it. Toilets are clean and there is a light throughout the night. On women's toilets is also mirror and handpool. There are strange people in the evening around the park, but it seems its normal in NZ, so don't worry.

Nice location, beside new world. At the heart of te puke town. Few cool kiwi workers. Feel safe but toilet not so clean

We didn’t enjoy this spot very much. Whilst there are plenty of spaces, most of them are taken by local kiwi workers. They are mostly quiet, but seem to refuse to go to the nearby toilets, and instead went into the bushes. It smelled like urine everywhere. The toilets were without any lights and not clean by the time we visited. Spent one night here and then moved on the next day. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Nice freecamp ! Drinkable water on the park, toilets opened all day & night, dump station and the New world just aside. Quite quiet, but can be full pretty early because a lot of kiwifruit workers live there.
