Great spot, close to the beach and within walking distance to supermarket and gym. Downside was being woken up at 2am by cars coming in and out and then listening to a woman singing ‘Alicia Keys - Girl on fire’ on repeat in the toilets at 4am-6/7am.
The best we've been to. Quiet and right next to a big grass patch. Even got a shower (cold) and bbq.
Questionable car late at night, strange crowd. Only 2 spaces free and at 2 a.m. the police came. Being a single girl, I of course didn't open that late, which earned me a $400 fine. Too bad because the place is beautiful and the restrooms are accessible.
Only 2 pitches, you have to arrive early. We arrived at 3pm on a Sunday in winter and took the last spot. The toilets are clean but closed at night. There is a fountain, it is quiet at night. Be careful of those who want to stay outside the pitches, we did it one night and a policeman came at 3:30am. This woke us up and we were able to avoid the fine by going outside to talk to him and then we left
Nice spot behind the dunes, toilets are clean, friendly people, sunny
Only two spots for vans/mobile homes, located right on the water but also near the children's playground. At 8 a.m., many parents with children arrived to celebrate a child's birthday, all was well. There were many dogs on site, one even bit me while walking 🏃...
Lots of cars coming and going at night, but a good night nonetheless! Cold shower, but pleasant after a day of work.
There are some weird people around right now with 2 vans in bad condition and a car too.
Kia Ora whanau we parked in a non designated spot as the x2 were already taken. We were awaken by a council member who would have fined us if we we didn’t wake up. He did us a solid so great full fine is $400 otherwise. Cold shower allgood in summer
Great spot just by the beach with clean toilet facilities and a cold shower. The beach is beautiful. Good signal & safe surroundings. We stayed for two nights (max) as it’s the best freedom camping spot we’ve been to so far!
