Beautiful place to visit, the parking lot is on the side of the road (that's not so good) for 1 night or 2 it's fine. There are bathrooms 24/7 and water. There is no signal on the phone, it is a good place to disconnect. ✨

We spent one night there and frankly very good. The parking lot is at the side of the road but there is little traffic. It's opposite the reserve so some walks. The toilets are available 24 hours a day. No street lights so no problem sleeping.

We spent one night here. Arrived around 10.30pm, there was already a camper (a family). Very quiet, with the reserve just behind to go for walks. No network and very little car passage. For one night, it's good.

We stayed here last night (Monday night/Sunday morning) it was lovely at first, just ourselves and one other campervan, there is only one road in and out and not many buildings around, so didn’t expect much traffic. However at 3am there was a man shouting very loudly and aggressively towards us walking past and about half an hour later a car doing dohnuts right next to our van shining his lights brightly. We were really scared and felt threatened so had to jump into the front of our van and drive away in the middle of the night. There is no phone reception here and no lights and its in the middle of nowhere - not worth a visit as there is nothing to see here and campers clearly aren’t welcome. We’ve been travelling round NZ in our camper for 3 months and this is the first time we’ve felt threatened and had to move in the middle of the night.

We stayed 2 nights at this beautiful place. It is next to the road, but it is a very quiet road. On the other side of the road 24h toilets and a walking trail with glowworms! We didn't have phone connection, but for us that was perfect!

One can follow the old tramline short loop track along Te Puna stream where glow worms can be seen at night. Take a torch!

Amazing little spot. Fresh water stream flowing one side and a nice scenic walk through the Reserve on the other. Very quiet. We were the only campervan there. Picnic tables and flush toilets great too. Only a few locals taking their dogs for a walk though the reserve.

Lovely picnic spot and parking area beside a rocky stream on one side of the road and a beautiful bush walk through Puketoki Reserve (50 mins) on the other side. Flush toilets, picnic tables and rubbish bin.
