Beautiful, serene, SO much parking space, beautiful views. You can go down the beach (takes 3 minutes) by quite a steep path, so do be careful. Bathrooms like 15 minute walk, we didn’t use them much, but water runs there (not drinkable. There is a cemetery in the corner. A local worker told us that there is a custom to wash your hands and sprinkle some water on your face before entering and after leaving. There is a tank with water just in front of it for this reason. Try to respect that!

Very big Free camp! Phone network available and not far from the toilet if you ever need it. We were the only van this night there. Quiet and easy to ride in the fields despite the rain there was all night and the day before.

The campsite consists only of a huge lawn that was only moderately grinded and therefore a lot of insects flew around. No toilet on the square, the nearest is about 20 min walk away. No direct access to the beach.

Such a gorgeous and serene location. There was only one other campervan when we were there. You can hear many kiwis calling at dusk and there’s space for many vans. Very private beautiful place.

I didn't stay because there was no one there. Large field, plenty of space, no facilities, but public toilets nearby. It clearly states that it's a free campsite, and a large area is marked off. 4G reception is excellent.

Listened to distant Kiwi chatting at dusk. Just a few other campers in the vast expanse of freshly mowed grass. It has everything a self-contained camper needs. Flat grass, magnificent views, and serenity. Oh the serenity.

Free camp isolated but super good, a small access to the beach has been installed (there is a rope), it's huge. The problem remains the toilets which are very far away so need to be taken into account!

Quiet, at the end of a short gravel road. Just a large grass field. No facilities but flush toilets 1km down the road

Just us and horses one night. Peaceful place and very beautiful. Nice drive. Close to maori pa site that doesn’t allow camping

Nice, huge and peaceful camping place. Locals look nice, safe place. Unfortunately, near toilets are out of order.
