Nice place, bit noisy with the road really close. But nothing wrong with this place. Didn’t see a free camp sign, but police drove by around 9 pm and didn’t say anything :)

We did not saw the toilets and donations box. The campsite is between railway and the A1 road, so it is loud but always welcome for a sleep on the road.

Good spot to break up the drive to Chch for the night. No toilet. Road noise was negligble.

Everybody seems to be afraid of this place. Not sure why. The negatives: a bit of noise coming from the road but acceptable and no toilets. The positives: the place is large enough for 15 to 20 vehicles so you are almost certain to find a place (today, we are alone with the many birds) and there are two tables. It would only be muddy after big rains but under normal circumstances, absolutely no issue (gravel in the center and grass on the side).

Based on the reviews, I was expecting a real nightmare! In reality, there were tables for eating and a bit of greenery. It's true, there's no toilet... Beyond that, only one person was parked there, and it was safe. As for the road noise I read about, it wasn't bothersome!

Nice spot to break up our trip, road noise didn't bother us. It's a pitty the track to the river is covered in toilet paper and 💩!! No wonder we lose so many FC areas when they are treated like this 😡

Just a patch of mud. No toilets.

Very noisy and a lot of insects the night we were there. I don't necessarily recommend it ><

Came to challenge the serial killer bird, it merely taunted us with a screech no progress today. Overall experience 7/10 TIL next time killer bird

Rest area in the grass. There is space for 10-15 cars and 2 picnic tables. The place is quiet, although it is on the side of the road. No toilets. I recommend :)
