NOT OPEN YET. Website says re-opening in December. Roadside sign says Closed, but opening Dec 1st... Today is Dec 6th and the camp was still closed... So, not great after a long drive... Beach view was nice though.
The location is very lovely BUT the prices changed and it’s now $25pp for unpowered site which seemed very expensive for the facilities that are quite basic Also showers are closed in the afternoon which is inconvenient for a beach side camp We were asked to leave at 10:30 which is the time of the checkout so I understand but the place was really empty et we weren’t using any facilities, just the little square of grass on which we were parked. Being nice never hurt (especially at $50 a night)
Worth coming out here for the views. Friendly safe park with a little coffee shop and a pop up taco place :)
Lovely beach. Showers were basic, but good. Dump station is a challenge unless you have a long pipe as the owners have had to put a drainage ditch between dump station and road after the cyclone. Had a food truck and coffee cart while we were there which was a nice treat!
Beach is great, full bars with 4G and wifi which worked at beachfront site 2. Hot free showers and flush toilets. One washer, no dryer but clothes lines. Filtered water in kitchen to fill water bottles. Rubbish and recycling facilities. Doesn’t appear you can drive up to the dump site as it’s right in the middle of the showers and toilets so I guess you have to carry your cassette?
Wonderful camping, would recommend 100% Such a beautiful beach and view Hot showers, very clean facilities We spent a nice time there
amazing campsite, stayed in a tent $22 each, big kitchen with wifi, toilets were spotless and modern, beachfront view is the icing on the cake!
Generally a great campsite with good facilities. Wi-Fi only available near to main building. Beach was good for paddling. Toilets and shower were good and clean, a bit dated but not a problem. Washing cost $6, no dryer, plenty of washing lines to hang wet clothes on. Entertaining drive up towards East Cape, no issues just slow through some of the washouts, keep your eyes on road ahead!
Stayed there for a night. The camp manager was very nice. The kitchen was quite big and clean, the showers were nice and hot, and the location right on the beach was ideal…
We had an amazing stay here. Spacious sites and all nice and close to the beautiful beach. Very well kept grounds. Good facilities, simple but nice and have everything you need. When we arrived there was no potable water but that evening there were filters installed which was great. Nice hot showers with good pressure. You can rent kayaks for a very reasonable price. The Anaura Bay walkway is close by if you want to get out for a small hike. We only left because there was two schools coming to stay otherwise we would have just kept extending. Very peaceful stay.
