Quiet site at end of bay , no facilities except dump station and some tank water . Wardens very pleasant. Definitely open unlike site at other end of bay which was shut with a school group only and no exceptions made by manager.
The doc is open, plenty of space, quiet and close to the beach. No toilet
1/1/23 definitely closed though unsure why. Gorgeous camp ground 2km down the road if you can get into it .

Still closed due to flooding, will open 1st of December..
Extremely damaged due to flooding. A huge amount of silt on the camp and damaged fencing. Sign says will reopen labour weekend. Such a shame, would have been a beaut spot.
Before going to the Anaura Bay Doc camp you now need to book online.
Excellent site. Freshwater. You need to be totally self contained with your own toilet. No toilet onsite. Helpful DOC camp wardens and a beautiful 2 hour hike right by the camp site. The road coming here was all paved and easy to get to.
Excellent site, road coming in is a bit hairy but site totally worth it. Access to beach through back gate. Friendly warden on-site. Recycling, dump station and water available. Pick your campsite carefully or you will be in the shade mid afternoon!
Stayed for a night. Quite and right on the beach Dog friendly Non Potable water available and a Dump station in Summer months.
