Incredible spot! This bay is so beautiful! The sunrise is magnificent. Plenty of space, not crowded, I was alone and felt safe. There's 4G reception. No toilets or water fountains. You have to be self-contained. The permit application is immediate; I received it by email right away.

Great spot, easy form to fill out with council, busy at this time of year but we found a spot to enjoy.

Gutted that this campground is closed due to flood damage. Hard to find a scenic park anywhere in the east cape at the moment. Happy to open our wallets and give the community a bit of cash by staying at paid campsites though. Would have been a beaut of a spot!

Sure it's awesome, although I didn't make it. ? don't rely on GPS if coming from Gisborne, it cuts out and makes you overshoot by 20km or so. Found myself in Tokomaru thinking wtf? Gunna stay here. Always good to leave some great places on the to-do list!

The most beautiful free camper I ever stayed at!! Had the whole beach to myself, you can literally park right next to the sand and you are a little above ground level so you have a perfect view. Even the toilet is decent.

We had no problem with our 8mtr motor home turning this is a very peaceful location have stayed two nights and going to stay two more.Awesome Gisborne thx

Not much flat area or turning area for campervans and extremely boggy - we got stuck and had a time pushing the van out ! Eek! Looks like it’d be a beaut spot to tent in summer though, rugged coastline and super remote but still handy to small town for amenities.

Paradise for $17 for 2 nights. Pick your own spot, so much space to choose from, right on the coast, off the main road. Super quiet, no traffic noise. The price includes a rubbish disposal bag so if you want that you need to pick it up from a number of tourist centre locations. Otherwise you can buy your permit online. I suggest doing so before you arrive as dell reception is poor.

It is very quite and peaceful. We had the whole area to us self. No one around. Looking out over the sea and see the sunrise. We stayed there for 2 nights. We will be back

So peaceful!!! There is a small toilet and a beach to yourself!
