Well maintained older facilities that were always clean. However it is a bit out of the way from the town and restaurants. There is a water park next door that kids would enjoy. My local Uber driver did say at the weekends and holidays it does attract some trouble. I stayed in mid week in March and it was very quiet and felt safe.
Gets you what you need. But if you're seeking a sense of wonder and "wow" while travelling NZ, it's not the one for you. Always had a good experience with Top10's camp grounds but this one's a little depressing.
Stayed here for one night, booked the morning of. Was super nice! Well kept and organised, and although there was a lot of kids it was no issue with sleep or enjoyment. We weren’t able to use the pool as we came late and left early, but it looks lovely. Very family friendly and tired travellers friendly
Very nice top 10! Clean, modern facilities as well as pool. We stayed on a Friday at the start of November and there were already a lot of kids around - they’re up early and were quite noisy. Didn’t overly bother us but just something to be aware of
Great spot, very clean and equipped with everything, free hot showers but bit expensive, for one night non power spot was 35$.
Nice campground! We booked late online through CamperMate and arrived late. The staff were so understanding and just let us park up. The bathroom facilities were clean and spacious. We only stayed one night but we’ll happily stay here again.
Need to say I quite liked our stay here, the vibes were super funky. The layout of the park is counterintuitive and you might find yourself walking in circles the first day, the pool lights stay on in the night and sometimes the music does too, and the jumping pillow is sometimes off during the day and on during the night. Real odd place but charming in a way
Spent a weekend there late November on a powered site. Everything is as you’d expect from a serviced campground. Kitchen and ablution facilities were clean and functional. There is a fairly decent outdoor BBQ area with a few grills as well. You’ll need all your own pots, pans, utensils, cutlery, cups, plates etc as there is zero house stock. Toasters, microwaves, ovens and gas hobs available. Showers free. Laundry has usual fee. Swimming pool is nice enough and generally dominated with children. Spa pools as far as I’m aware are not operational over summer. Only negatives were some road noise from my site and also the unusual entry point which is actually right on a street corner intersection. Not a huge deal but can be a little confusing if regular traffic about.
Drove in and drove out. Only campers were permanent residents. Run down and depressing. Sorry, paid for a night but carried on.
