Very hidden and secluded location! The long drop toilet was rather dirty with many cockroaches. No shower. You can find better free campsites. But the bay is very nice!

If you walk the TA you don't get total access to this hidden place. During October you can be here on your own and possibly for free. Water is filtered, if needed just filter it. No shower but dry toilet. But only in a little bay and only accessable by walking. Sufficient for hiker. Kia Ora Christian

We went there 23/06/16 and they are closed.... Also.... No motorhomes allowed... Looks like an awesome spot though :)

This is one of my favourite places in NZ, been back there heaps, very safe, cool family that looks after the reserve, amazing night skies and safe beaches for kids. Walk over the hill to the east side of the peninsula and find some surfable waves. Definitely need to book in advance for peak season!

Really nice view and cheap, clean washing up area and toilet. Cold water only! Very good for one night stay. $22 for 2.

It is closed during winter.

It's only for tent campers! No van or camper van!!
