SC only so didn't stay here
best spot on the island in me and my partners opinion, located on the outskirts of a lovely town with lovely people.
Its a little confusing. There were 2 pullouts off the road and it looks like you can park anywhere on the grass in the area? We parked at the top of the stairs with a nice ocean sunset view. There is also a spot for 3 vehicles down by the water front. They are clearly marked and you dont have to walk the stairs.
The council representative kindly explained this site doesn’t allow tent sites The stairs to the toilets makes you wanna throw a ring into lava
Good big area for lots of SCV, areas with shelter from the coastal wind or open spots towards stairs. We parked near the stairs and had a good sunset! There's one flush toilet at the base of the steps down to the beach area. Tap inside the toilet below the sink for any water needs. Lots of campers around and seemed popular but not an issue finding a spot. A council member came round and gave us info on freedom sites, saying 3 nights max but 1 was recommended.
Very nice area with trees. Quiet and safe. Really nice walk along cliffs and through small but elaborate flower garden.
Was easy to find a place but the spot is pretty far away from the toilet even tough we parked as close as we could, because we as a non self contained have to stay inside 100m to the toilet. Didn't find a water fountain either
Very good spot, ideal to spend a night or two, near the beach and very quiet. We arrived around 7pm and there was only one other vehicule.
A large lawn where you can park anywhere self-contained (maximum 12 vehicles). It was a windy night, but the bushes offer some protection. The night was otherwise very quiet. In the morning there was a delicious breakfast in the Arty Tarts Cafe. :)
