Lovely place, super chill and quiet. Available for self contained and non self contained. Bathrooms were super clean and there’s an outdoor shower - Not bad for being in the middle of nowhere. Very noisy with all rhe birds screaming at night but good experience

Very cool, lots of birds and kiwi. WiFi by the toilets. Spots for CSC and NSC. $10 recommended donation for the beautiful park.

Stayed here one night, driving through the predator-proof gates was a new interesting experience. Could hear so many Kiwis at night! No phone signal (2degrees) but there’s public wifi by the visitor centre being built & toilets. Toilets were nice & clean (gents at least, unsure about others) Construction wasn’t loud at all and workers started arriving between 8:30-9am

I stayed here for one night and it was great, I only had my car! Lots of birds around and jumping on the car but a great view of the lake... but I had no signal from the moment I crossed the gate

We stayed there 2 nights, the first one was on public holiday and there were many people. In theory, only 6 cars are allowed to camp but there were many more. The next night was way more quiet with only 4-5 cars. There is some construction work going on so it can get a bit noisy in the morning. The first workers came at 8.30am. Toilets open all night. One cold outside shower. Free WiFi near the toilets. This is a bird sanctuary and if you’re lucky you could see a kiwi. We saw 1 and heard many

It currently has a large construction site, so there is no running water! So take enough with you. It has two Dixie toilets

10/10 whoever maintains the facilities have done their best to keep this recreation space available for all by putting in portaloos, unfortunately they do seem to have difficulty keeping up with the rate of “visitors” Otherwise we managed to see 2 kiwi around 8:30pm and enjoy the absolutely splendid and unique views of lake Rotokare

Disappointed. We drove at the night for arrive at this spot available for NSC van, and we find a handwritten sign that the bathroom was not avaliable for which the vehicles NSC CANNOT STAY. No date for knowing when they reopen or other info. The road for arrive there is pretty long, if someone had put a sign on at the entrance of Sangster Rd. or just update info on this app would be appreciated.

Free, non drinkable water, WIFI!, Every kind of car can stay. Good reception but in the reserve no reception. Saw 5 kiwis durring 1 hour!!!
