One shower for everyone so there was quite the queue between 7pm to 9pm Quite peaceful
This parking area was not for us, online check in on arrival, toilets x 2 without soap, one shower we were unable to access as too many staying and the queue outside was too long, if we had have waited by the time we reached the front it would have been closing time! Bin was overflowing (very unpleasant to look at) with a cardboard sign asking you to take to next destination! Owner not at all helpful at cafe, we asked if open and were told even if he were at 8pm he would not be serving food!
Good spot near the national park, large parking areas for many campers. Hot showers are included in the price ($16 per person). Toilets and showers were clean. The Wi-Fi doesn't reach the parking areas. We had a quiet night :)
We received a friendly welcome, enjoyed a delicious meal in the restaurant, and had a comfortable time. It's worth noting that the campsite only has one shower and two toilets for everyone 😉.
What a fantastic place! Lovely campsite, friendly people, and delicious food in the restaurant. Highly recommended!
This place so very cool. Highly recommend stopping here on your travels. The food is amazing and the camping area is nice and quiet. Very family oriented and cheap!
We had a lovely stay there over New Years. All the owners we got to know (mother, son, sons-wife) were super friendly and even have time for a chat. They let you fill your water, Wi-Fi, hot showers, lots of place. Everything clean and nice. Cosy and peaceful Cafe. The New-Years party in the Cafe on the Campground was brilliant: Bonfires; tap-beer; good food and an excellence artist (Graeme James) who made everyone dance within the first two minutes. One of our travelhighlights so far!
Great place to camp for the night. Good location for hiking Taranaki. The owners seemed lovely and welcoming. Toilets and shower also very clean.
We felt compelled to leave a review for this fantastic stop along our NZ camper van journey. One of the best stays that we had. Great food and drinks. Awesome staff. Clean. You need to stay here if you’re in the area and plan on hiking Taranaki! Can’t beat the view also :)
Such a lovely campsite! Nice, quiet, beautiful views & the restaurant has delicious coffee and great food! Also very close to the start of the tracks on Mount Taranaki
