Perfect place to sleep before hiking the Taranaki Summit (or any other hike). Camping table and even toilet with running water. It was beautiful (and cold of course) night with with sky full of stars.
There is a pretty nice toilet, spots for up to 10 cars, picnic tables. It’s the best place to stay before early hike in the Taranaki park. Good place to watch night sky. Signal was very low or there was none.
We were the only car parked here for the night. Two guys came in a car, asking lots of questions, definitely trying to scare and intimidate us. We ended up moving to another spot. Highly recommend that the ladies be careful there!
Just a car park, not flat. No rubbish bins despite what is mentioned in the description.
Peaceful spot in a parking area off the main Egmont road. Surrounded in lush, green native bush with a few walks nearby. There is an area with picnic tables and flush toilets with running water (not suitable for drinking). What a beautiful spot to free camp for the night!
Nice little camper spot. Not very big but pretty isolated, no traffic driving past. Toilets are good and there’s a small picnic area with tables.
Small and isolated... A little bit scary. But toilets and water.
Small space for 3 van or 2 camper. There are toilets a few meters that were clean. Its a little busy place, we arrived around 22h and there was still room. If you drive at night you will come across a lot of possum on the road that leads to it. This is the starting point for a ride to the North Egmond visitor center. There are picnic tables.
Good site free with clean toilets
Loved it here! There were about 5 other cars here. It's quiet, a nice grassy area for tents. No rubbish bins so please take your rubbish with you. Clean flush toilets with TP. Water available but boil before use. Two picnic tables. Very quiet at night. Highly recommend! And freeeeee!!
