Be careful a police men come and said to us to leave because it’s really unsafe. He told us to go to the Huntly picnic area, more safe
A very good and quiet spot. There were two of us on the site, and no one complained. No toilets are directly nearby, but there are plenty of fast-food chains across the bridge.
Despite the construction there is no indication that camping is not allowed. We were alone.Noisy because of the road but beautiful little view in the morning.
The parking lot is currently closed due to construction work.
No toilet and very noisy due to the street.
Nice place just because it's by the river but don't trust the last comment there are absolutely no toilets (the nearest are 20 minutes away on foot), really just a field by the river with the road next to it (with earplugs it's ok)
Nice place thanks to the river, clean toilets and BBQ. But take you earplugs, it’s really noisy (train, trucks and cars passing during the night).
Stayed one night, wasn’t disturbed at all.
You will have shops across the bridge but unless your camping vehicle is sound proof you will experience noise from cars going to and from town on the bridge and to and from Ngaruawahia. It’s the acoustic positioning. You will also have curious locals who may just check you out. Nap spot not a camping spot. There’s a picnic table
Nice spot, by the river and bridge. Quite nice, but bit trafic during daylight. No toilets
