Not too busy this time of year, beautiful location. Some sandflies. Coffee cart in the morning!
Really big site with excellent toilets, clean. However just to be aware- it can flood. Woke in the middle of the night and the whole campgrounds was flooded. I was surprised because I hadnt heard other campers making any commotion but a lot had left in the night. I honked to alert the other campers, others did the same and a legend of a man waded in to wake a few campers who hadnt started their cars yet. So we all got out, but check the rain forecast as the river banks can burst at high tides
Large car park with bathrooms that are clean. Beautiful sunset. Gets busy so get there early ish if you can. Bad sandflies !
Loved this place! So relaxing to put our chairs next to the river. Only a few sandflies (yay) and amazing beach is right across the road. No luck seeing penguins, although I did find tracks. Someone had a big fire on the beach and others sat right next to the waters edge.:-(. Still ot was a beautiful place.
Great to stop at, if not to stay for a chat & coffee from the rusty cup cafe. The man is a great laugh with heaps of locals advice!!!
Lovely spot with lots of space. Lot filled mostly by 7pm. Toilets good and opportunity to swim just past the bridge in the river. Take the time to walk out to the beach and enjoy, especially at low tide. Some sandflies.
Large, free campsite. Close to the sea. A sign on the beach indicates the possibility of seeing seals and penguins, but we didn't see any when we were there around February 20th. Clean toilets. A local man comes every morning (8:30 am - 1:30 pm) with his food truck. Great coffee and hot chocolate, and the pancakes are delicious. The man is super friendly, very funny, and gives lots of advice.
Lovely vibe at this spot! Plenty of other campers chilling and fishing, and there’s a friendly coffee vendor who shows up for a good chunk of the day. The spot is in a stunning place and just over the road from the beach. Clean drop toilets with hand san and an outside sink. Phone signal not great. Plenty of reviews mention sandflies but totally depends on the day. We stayed 2 nights: Day 1: no sandflies Day 2: a few sandflies Day 3: more sandflies than I’ve ever seen anywhere in my life
Great campsite, close to the beach, the sunset is amazing to see. There are toilets. No cell service and quite a few sandflies.
Big car park but filled up by 5pm both nights I was here. They ain't kidding about the sandflies, loads of bees too! Drop toilet, sink no soap. No drinkable water/fill up station or dump station or shop anywhere so bring everything you need including fuel! Backs onto a river is beautiful & quiet. No WiFi the first night, but 2nd night there was! I had 1 bar of 4g on skinny but at the beach across the road had 4 bars
