Lots of space, perfect for a stop before reaching Te Anau/Milford Sound. Had clean toilets, drinking water and we loved the coffee shop steps away from where we parked. Beside the road but wasn’t noisy at all. Would recommend!

Such a fantastic spot! It’s one of my favorite freedom camp spots out of this entire trip. It’s got everything you need: toilet, place to wash your dishes, freshwater and a place to dump your waste if need be. It’s also close to a store, a restaurant and a quiet little park 

A great place to park up for the night! Felt safe and the toilets were close by. The camp kitchen was very basic. The hotel/pub across the road is a 10/10 recommend! The owner is super friendly and loved to chat. Cafe opposite was amazing for brekkie. Food was delish in both places - highly recommended supporting the locals there!

Great free camping area for non self contained and self contained. Check signs for which spots to park in depending if you have self contained or not. Tons of free spaces when here in late September It has clean flushing toilets, washing up, dump station and drinking water. Cafe and four square directly opposite 30 second walk Absolutely no issues whilst here, has good phone signal, clean and quiet 😁

Very well set up for freedom campers (self contained and non-self contained), toilets were clean and washing up station was very helpful, close to multiple cafes and a Four Square and felt very safe. We ended up staying 2 nights as it was so ideal

Great place to stay! Clean washrooms and a clean place to do your dishes, also a good spot for dumping and refilling your water! You can tell the town wants freedom campers to come and they’ve put in the work to make it worth it!

Within a 50-meter radius, you'll find everything you need at this campground. There are plenty of pitches (for both self-contained and non-self-contained vehicles). Trash cans, a dump station, fresh water, and toilets are available. A supermarket (Four Square) is located opposite the campground, and there's even a café right in front of it.

Plenty of space. Close to the main road but no traffic at night. Clean flushing with sink and mirrors. Sink to wash dishes, water tap tables and public shower nearby. In a train museum.

Best free campground in New Zealand (at least in our 3 months experience). Plenty of space, good flush toilets open also at night, free wifi from the library, amazing historical trains, silence at night (we slept here one Saturday night)
